It's been a while!

Baby Connor!

Hello all!! It has been a while! Life is happening!! I know I have been

MIA on my blog, so much has been happening. Busy, busy, busy!! I have been keeping my nephew 4 days a week for a few months now, which takes alot of my time! He is almost a year old!! Adorable!!

So I haven't gotten to sew as much as I would like! But it is worth it!! I have made a couple new style of dresses if you haven't stopped by my shop lately! They are adorable.

Again I apologize for my photography! It really stinks!!

My oldest has just finished up Swim seasona nd is on to track. Then on to Softball. It amazes me I have any time at all for sewing! hehe!!

I'm thinking of listing some big sis little sis sets in my shop. (Like those pictured in the blue).? Maybe. What do you think?
If you leave a comment on this blog I will enter your name into a drawing for a free Boo Boo pack! These are adorable and very handy, (just ask Makeya)! Keep it in the freezer for bumps and scrapes, need heat, throw it in the microwave for 30 seconds and you have a hot compress!! Very nifty!
Everyone have a great week!!

Hello Everyone!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday!! I feel very refreshed after my break!! I loved having my girls home, but I'm also glad they are back in school!! Yeah!! I have made some changes in my store, I no longer offer custom sizes in all my dresses. It was getting verys stressful, not knowing what kind of work week was coming up.

As memebers of my blog, I am Completly happy to make dresses for you guys in any size at anytime!! Just convo me anytime you see something you like and want it in a different size, OK!
This is the new Halter style, very popular already!! wink.wink.

Hello Everyone!!!
I hope everyone is having a great Holiday Season!!! I know I am sure enjoying it!!! I've baked cookies, made fudge, visited family, made hot cocoa, blah, blah, merry blah....I'm watching it snow outside my window right now. (Only 2" expected!! , glad I'm not any more east:)

I had to share the WONDERFUL news I just recieved!! The CPSIA has realized the unfair, and unrealistic aspects of the new laws and have issued another year to review and correct the laws!! So, yes I have already spent about 50 hours making myself compliant, (of which I still had some work to do), but now I know I am safe for another year! YEAH!!! I will have much to celebrate this weekend!!!

Not all bad things have come of this experience though. I have discovered that there is less lead in metal snaps than plastic buttons:), I have ordered my fabric labels of which shows datr of manufacture, city state and country. Washing instructions. So technically, I will now produce a safer product!! Which is wonderful!!!

So in February oof 2011, when the new law will come into force, I will have a lot less to do now! I'm so glad I didn't procastinate, I feel I will be offering a nicer/safer product from now on.

Happy Holidays!! Warm Wishes and Hugs!!!

Meet a follower.....

Hello loves!! I hope all are well this evening. Tonight I'm featuring one of my followers, well her daughter anyway.
First I'd like to give a huge Thank you to Talylor who was one of my first etsy customers and became my first repeat etsy customers! I still remember how nervous I was when her first fabric arrived! I thought for sure I would ruin it! I was so scared.

I have made many dresses for lil' C, since then. I admit, I did ruin one order though, I still feel really bad about that. I cut the fabric upside down! How to track down someone who had some of that fabric. It was a discontinued fabric! Yikes, sorry T for making you wait an extra week on that dress.

All has been well since then! I think...! hehe. I still love this burberry plaid dress! So cute! Your daughter is adorable. She would be cute if I sent you a potato sack!
Thanks again, T, I appreciate all the trust you have put into me over the past couple of months! It has been my pleasure!!

New Set

I really like this new set I made today! I love how Christmassy it came out! I like that I could sell the shirt seperately and returning customers can just buy pants/skirt/capri's with matching sash and have a whole new outfit for their tot. I'm debating offering a ruffle on the bottom of the pants. They are really cute, but its alot more work.
I guess I could offer some with ruffle and some without. Guess that was pretty obvious! Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas.......

Well it's a rare almost 70 degrees outside here in Indiana, but I have been turning out some Christmas dresses.
I wanted to share them will my blog followers before I lissted them. I have a couple more in mind, I have yet to make, but here is what I have so far. Tell me your opinions!!
I still have some more to come, but wold love some feedback on these ones.
Happy looking!!! Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!! We have had scarlet fever in the house, Makenna and Shanda both had it. I think it sounds horrible!! One of those things you hear about but neve rhad, well it's just strep throat with a rash, but it sounds like something that would kill you! Scared me to death when the Doctor told me!
We are working on getting better though!!

Why Me?....
Sometimes I just feel like the world is out to get me, don't get me wrong, I don't sit around and dwell on sad things in my life, but here is my newest whine.

New regulations going into affect in February 2010, may very well be the down fall of my small business. These new regulations will require me to lab test every material and item used in my products. Including buttons and fabric. I will also have to do labels with certain info. Labels are the least of my problems. The cost of this testing is ridiculous. I could test one type of fabric and button and only make items out of these, but personally I don't think the sales would be all that great.

I make my dresses and such as a hobby and to make enough money to make my children stuff without it costing me. So, after months of searching these new regulations (confusing) I've come to the realization that if they do not make some changes in these regulations, it wil cost me to produce childrens clothing. CRAZY!! I would have to charge like $30-40 a dress to cover the cost of the testing. This is nuts.

I think(THINK) that if I use certain undyed and tested chemical free fabric and don't use buttons, elastic, or anything else, and correctly label each item, I could still sell without alot of testing. How uncreative and boring.

I'm still looking into things and will keep you all updated, Thanks all. Wish me luck.
