Fall Jacket

I had a very busy day yesterday! I got the chance to create! I love those days!!

First thing I created was this new fall jacket! This is one of those license deals (so I need your input!!) First about the jacket. It is made with a medium weight wrinkle resistant cotton onjthe outside and lightweight cotton lining. It is fully lined.

Let me tell you my thoughts on this jacket. 1) The size pictured is a 6. In the pic below my daughter is wearing the coat- she had just started wearing a 6. This coat is big. I think a 5 would fit her alot better. No biggie on that- I can make those changes.

2) The buttons I used were obviously two small, I think some larger buttons would really add to the front.
3)This coat has some nice weight to it and will make a great fall jacket and early winter jacket. I love that I can also use light weight cotton on both the inside and out to make it a lighter jacket!
Ok, now tell me, would you pay $40.00 for this style jacket?

Next new project I worked on is these adorable pencil skirts!! I have made skirts in the past, I enjoy making cute twirl skirts, but I LOVE these pencil skirts.
They have a lined front panel, so it lays flat instead of poofing! It has elastic in the back to make sure you get a great fit.
Theengths are more easily adjusted on this pattern too!
I paired the red one with the white peasant top and a sash and I can't wait for school to start!

I am offering a special on etsy for these skirts at $8 a piece. As an intro for my bloggers I will offer any 2 for $12.00. If you would rather have another fabric than pictured just let me know- if I have it extra it will be yours!!

Cheers!!

Youth Yoga Suits

I am in love with this new pattern,a nd am thrilled with the results of it!!
I need lots of feedback on this set because I can't offer them to my "peeps" unless I buy a license. So I need to know if you think it would be worth it to offer these in my shop. The licensce is not that expensive, but it's just enough to want advice:)
This set: The yoga pants feature a fun strap of fabric around the waist band, to make them fun and youthful. The fabrics are very stretchy!! Very comfy!!
The top is a reversible kimono style wrap jacket. (Though can be worn alone) The jacket pictured I used a little bit shorter sleeves than what the pattern called for, I just wanted to try something out, but usually the jacket wont have cuffs and will be full length sleeves. The jacket is fully lined and is reversible . I paired this set with an appliques tank top to complete the outfit.
If I offer these sets, I will have sweveral fabrics and lengths for them to come in. Here is big issue. These prices are approximate but it will be in this range. The complete three piece set will be aroun d$50.00, The two piece setpants and jacket will be $45.00, The pants alone will be $20. and the jacket will be around $28.00. Of course if I get a better deal on the fabric when I go to the fabric store the price will go down. Each set takes 4-5 yards of fabric, adn the set takes about 4 hours to complete. As I get use too making them my time on each set will go down also.

Your opinions on all matters is important to me!! Please help me out.

Plaid Pleats

Hellooooo!! Just a quick post to show off some pics!

A little description of what you are looking at? The top pics are of the argyle fabric, I use it to amke an aline then added an appliques polka dot bird. I really like how the polka dots worked with the argyle. Then the brown fabrics I forgot to include this picture the other day with the new fal fabrics. Not sure how I forgot that. But there it is.
The last shots are of the blue green fabric, I posted. I followed Taylors advice and used it in a pleated aline dress. I did not realize at the time that I would not be able to locate a pattern for this. So I used my knowledge of pleats and my basic aline pattern. Tada!! I love it, though next time I may try to get two pleats in there. Not sure the regular pattern will allow for wnough room for this. Mmmm, next project!

OOOhhh lala!

I really am excited about these fabrics!!
These first two pics are perfect for fall! I can not pick a favorite this time, and that never happens:) I'm so overwhelmed with them I do not even know where to start.
The only complaint I have about these fabrics is the white one with the pink flowers and black scroll- it is almost see thru- so whatever I make with it will have to have a solid lining.
I love the green fabric with black flowers and cream outline. Though was dissappointed they didn't have anything to coordinate with it. Oh well, just saved me some money I'm sure:)
Let me know what you think of these fabrics!!

Partial to Plaid

This has been a plaid kind of week. Matbe it is just a new addiction? I'm not sure the reason. I've been searching for some new fabrics lately and can't seem to find any. My last two fabric purchases have both been plaids. They are beautiful and have lots of color to them.
You can't really see the sparkly part of the pants Emma's wearing but she loved that fabric, I had to agree. The place that I bought the green plaid (at the top) had two other plaids I almost bought, but I didn't because I was hoping to find something else. No luck, yet.......

Classic with a twist!

Hello everyone! I hope I am finding everyone well! I'm trying to fight darn allergies, its acting more like spring here in Indiana than summer. I'm sick of the rain, my girls need to get utside!!

I am getting the chance to use some creativity, and I have a couple things in the works. I love this new dress I made yesterday!! I'm temptedt o try to dsqueeze the twins into a size four so they can where some:)
I may be showing my age here, but I love, no correction LOVE pinstripes. (is that one word or two?) I think it is classic and looks adorable on all! Men, women, boys, girls, you name it and it can be cute.
So first I started with the classic black and white pinstripe and matched it with the classic aline style dress. Results: Wow, as you can see. Can't you just picture it with "Prince" style ruffles underneath it this winter with some tights? Lil' Mary jane shoes....ahhhh. I need a lil one. (jk, my sanity is more important) Anyway, then I thought, how can I make it pop? Bright pink art and bright pink buttons of course!! Tada, theecond dress (I used the grey and white on this one, I also have brown and white) My oldest picked the butterfly, but I'd like to try the some other stencils also. One step at a time.
Etsy is very slow right now so I'm also working on opening another Sew Frivolous. This one will be on Artfire. It's worth trying, I need some sales:)
Who knows maybe one day I will have my own site. SCARY! Computers scare me. I can barely get around.....I'm showing my age again arn't I?
