New Set

I really like this new set I made today! I love how Christmassy it came out! I like that I could sell the shirt seperately and returning customers can just buy pants/skirt/capri's with matching sash and have a whole new outfit for their tot. I'm debating offering a ruffle on the bottom of the pants. They are really cute, but its alot more work.
I guess I could offer some with ruffle and some without. Guess that was pretty obvious! Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas.......

I wanted to share them will my blog followers before I lissted them. I have a couple more in mind, I have yet to make, but here is what I have so far. Tell me your opinions!!
I still have some more to come, but wold love some feedback on these ones.
Happy looking!!! Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!! We have had scarlet fever in the house, Makenna and Shanda both had it. I think it sounds horrible!! One of those things you hear about but neve rhad, well it's just strep throat with a rash, but it sounds like something that would kill you! Scared me to death when the Doctor told me!
We are working on getting better though!!

Why Me?....
Sometimes I just feel like the world is out to get me, don't get me wrong, I don't sit around and dwell on sad things in my life, but here is my newest whine.

New regulations going into affect in February 2010, may very well be the down fall of my small business. These new regulations will require me to lab test every material and item used in my products. Including buttons and fabric. I will also have to do labels with certain info. Labels are the least of my problems. The cost of this testing is ridiculous. I could test one type of fabric and button and only make items out of these, but personally I don't think the sales would be all that great.

I make my dresses and such as a hobby and to make enough money to make my children stuff without it costing me. So, after months of searching these new regulations (confusing) I've come to the realization that if they do not make some changes in these regulations, it wil cost me to produce childrens clothing. CRAZY!! I would have to charge like $30-40 a dress to cover the cost of the testing. This is nuts.

I think(THINK) that if I use certain undyed and tested chemical free fabric and don't use buttons, elastic, or anything else, and correctly label each item, I could still sell without alot of testing. How uncreative and boring.

I'm still looking into things and will keep you all updated, Thanks all. Wish me luck.

Look what I bought!!!!!!

I'm so glad I didn't buy a whole bunch of other fabrics!! This has my style written all over it.
Look at that green with red damask, and teh matching stripes, it's kinda irredecent! I love it so much!!!
Look at the Christmas Trees with polka dots and snowflakes!! How are people going to be able to choose just one?? Look how well those stripes and polka dots go with it! Yeah!!!
I can't wait to create with these!! I'm currently working on a couple of large orders, but I just might have to sqeeze these in somewhere!!!
OK, let me know what you think!! I want your opinion.

Isn't this one just so much fun?? Gorgeous!!
Yellow, who would have thought to mix in yellow with Christmas??

Great weekend

Hello loves, today is
Monday and the sun is finally shining here. It actaully got almost to 60 degrees outside! Yeah, the heat hasn't kicked on in 2 hours. I may even open a window or two in a few. I had a great weekend. IFriday we took the girls to the children to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, which is AWESOME!! We were there all day and still had to rush threw the last two floors, yes there are only five to start, but there was just so much to see and do!

Saturday, I got to go to the Artisan Hoosier Boutique and meet my fellow etsians! It was an exciting day! Next year I will be getting a booth!!

Yesterday, we took the kids to the pumpkin patch, which

I thought we were going to miss this year due to illnesses. Everyone recovered and we went, late but it was still fun. Then I got to watch my cousins daughter take second place in her fast-pitch league! What a great weekend/fallbreak! I didn't have a chance to be sad that we weren't camping!

I got my orders for the week caught up and will hopefully get some stuff made....I know, I know, I always say that.

Have to Share.......

I just finished this dress and it is so adorable that I just had to share it with you guys!! I know it is not a fabric for everybody, but I LOVE it!!!! And look at those buttons, my first attempt at home made buttons!! They turned out beautifully!! I'm so excited to be able to offer custom buttons to match the dresses perfectly!!!

I'm still working on finding the perfect A-line pattern for size 6. As soon as I get it figured out I'm making the twins some of these dresses!! Wow!! Ok, I will stop tooting my horn now!!

Tell me what you think, is it too bold??

Which picture should I use for the main etsy pic??

Congrats Trisha!!!

We have a winner!!! Congratualtions to Trisha she is the winner of the Eco-bags! We won't mention it was a 50/shot, hehe. I will get those made and mailed out this week!!

I have no new pics to show, I have had two sick babies(ok not babies, they are 5 years old now) all weekend:( So, I am hoping to get them back to school tomorrow and get some stuff created. Though I have decided that for this month, I'm gonna stick with what I know and hopefully unload some of my fabric, it is getting out of control really. Don't worry Taylor, I will get your dress made and shipped out first thing in the morning!

I will be featuring one of my dresses and one of my clients later this week. Hhhhmmmm who will it be?

OH YEAh, ALSO I located more brown owl fabric!!!!! YEAH!!!! I took all they had left, which ended up only being 3 yards, but hey I will take it!!

New attempt

Ok, this was my first attempt at the business style. This was not an easy attempt. Things were not as easy as I thought they would be, but I managed to struggle through and here are my discoveries.

I love the pants!! They are absolutely adorable! The only thing I would change on them is to use a wider elastic at the waist, because something just seems off there.

The vest, well. Not what I expected, but let me explain. After looking at the picture on the pattern I decided it was to short for the look I was going for. So I extended the length of the pattern to a size 8. That should be plenty long right? Well you see the final picture. It's still almost too short. In my opinion.

Second problem with the vest, the original pattern featured ribbons that tied in to a bow at the top of the vest to hold it together. It looked ok in the drawing on the pattern, but once made it was hideous and huge!! Yes, I followed the directions. It is the correct size!

Once I pinned the ribbons back, I'm ok with the look. I'm still going to have to tweak it some, but the overall concept is what I was looking for. I think I will attempt to find a pattern that features a button down vest. I have one but it only fits up to a size 2t:(

If you look really close you can tell that it has white pinstripes. It looks adorable in person.
